Bellwether, a Berkeley-based coffee-roaster startup, selected our firm to design their headquarters. One of the important aspects of the design for Bellwether Coffee was to tell the unique bean-to-mug journey through the interior experience. A welcome-center headquarters for employees, guests, and out-of-state client guests required hospitality and warmth. Our white-glove installation in the lobby included faux concrete work, hidden lighting, a custom sculptural interpretation of Bellwether’s logo, and our final touch of custom wallpaper crafted to feel like the lush vegetation of a coffee farm brought indoors.

An important part of maximizing the space was to balance both wow-factor first impressions and highly functional furniture built for growth, expansion, and multipurpose uses such as classes and team meetings.

Custom fabrication details allowed for subtle modifications to furniture and workspaces for differently-abled guests and staff to have an equal experience. Design programming included an emphasis on biophilia to bring greenspace into the workplace for better living.
